Panamania! My Pan Am Game experience in Photos

I have attached some behind the scenes photos and some notes on my 2 week experience. Please ENJOY!

My first shift was with the Roller Sports Figure Skating team. Here is a picture of the amazing team that I started my journey with. We are made up of chiropractors, physiotherapist, massage therapist, athletic therapist and medical doctors. We had a blast!

Next I had some pretty fun days with Squash . Canada’s team captured silver in both men’s and women’s team event!

Along the way I learned about handball which is nothing like the handball I played at recess. In the end Brazil dominated and won gold in both the men’s and women’s events. It is definitely an up and coming sport in Canada.

I did get to see the Canadian women’s team defeat Chile. It was great to see all the Canadian flags in the audience.

My volleyball days were the most action packed since while sitting on the sidelines to aid any injured players you are dodging balls flying at your head periodically.

My last few days were spent in racquetball. There is a real push to get this sport into the Olympics and I understand why. These athletes are strong, agile, flexible and just amazing to watch. It was the first medal ceremony I attended and seeing the Canadian men’s team win a bronze was very special.

Meeting and treating these athletes is an experience I will never forget. Listening to their stories and their journeys to these games were extremely inspirational for me and I am so honoured to have played a small role in their Games experience.

But for me the real highlight was sharing the Games with my family. We checked out the entertainment caught a basketball game ( Canada beat Mexico!!) and we took in all the Canadian pride.
